Good Omens director included secret Terry Pratchett tribute

Douglas Mackinnon included a secret tribute to the late Sir Terry Pratchett in ‘Good Omens’.
The director has revealed producers of the Amazon Prime Video show – an adaptation of the 1990 novel Terry penned with Neil Gaiman – included the late author’s iconic hat in a string of scenes as a way of honouring Terry, who died in March 2015 at the age of 66.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "In the series Michael Sheen’s character Aziraphale has a book shop in Soho and it’s the best book shop you can imagine.
"The shop has a hat stand and every time we go there, Terry’s hat is sitting on it. It’s front and centre so it’s there for people to see."
‘Good Omens’ stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant as an angel and demon who must join forces to find a way to save the world.
Douglas says there are "little references" to various projects the cast have worked on, including David’s stint as the titular Time Lord on hit BBC sci-fi series ‘Doctor Who’, throughout the series.
He said: "There are little references to different shows we all worked on in the past.
"There are some for ‘Doctor Who’, some for ‘Sherlock’ and other shows like that."
Terry’s long-time pal and collaborator Neil paid homage to the writer at the show’s premiere last week by sitting next to a chair on which his trademark hat and scarf were placed.
He said: "Terry always used to say to me, ‘You know the big difference between us, Neil, is you believe that one day there’ll be a ‘Good Omens’ movie. I will only believe it, whatever happens, if I’m sitting next to you at the premiere with a big bag of popcorn – and I don’t promise I’ll believe it then.’
"And I like to think, if he were here, right now, he might believe, as we made it for him. So just so everybody knows, right here, right at the front, is Terry Pratchett’s hat, and an enormous bag of popcorn."
