Humans axed after three series

‘Humans’ will not be returning for a fourth series.
The Channel 4 and AMC show was last on air 10 months ago, but now co-creators Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley have confirmed the sci-fi programme won’t be back for another season, and insisted they had "no complaints" because there is "unprecedented choice and competition" within the industry.
The pair – who wrote the show and acted as executive producers – said in a statement: "Sadly there won’t be a 4th season of Humans. In this age of unprecedented choice and competition, we can have no complaints. Channel 4 & AMC were the perfect partners. They supported the show brilliantly and above all – let us make three seasons!
"We’re gutted of course, but we were so lucky. We got to make the show we wanted to make, for 24 episodes. The Humans cast and crew were and are the best, and we wouldn’t have got a 2nd season without their talent and dedication, let alone a 3rd. (sic)"
The duo took a cheeky dig at HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ after the fantasy epic’s final season resulted in a fan campaign for a re-shoot with different writers.
They quipped: "Thank so you much for the messages, support, podcasts, bespoke mugs, and for never setting up a petition to make us redo something."
While Jonathan and Sam admitted the show – which starred the likes of Emily Berrington, Ruth Bradley and Manpreet Bachu – had left some loose ends, they hope to be able to tell the characters’ next stories at some point.
They added: "We know we left some threads hanging. That was the way we always wrote the show. Maybe one day we’ll get a chance to pick them back up.
"If there’s anyone out there with a few million quid and an interest in AI stories, we’re all ears. DM us Elon."
