Rosie Williams insists Love Island should stay on air

Rosie Williams says ‘Love Island’ shouldn’t be cancelled after ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ was axed.
The ITV daytime show is set to end production after 14 years of production following the death of Steve Dymond, who allegedly took his own life a week after taking a lie detector test on the programme.
But former ‘Love Island’ star Rosie, 27, has insisted the ITV2 dating show should stay on air, despite the deaths of former contestants Mike Thalassitis, 26, and Sophie Gradon, 32.
Rosie – who appeared on the programme last year – told ‘The Jeremy Vine Show’: "I think that people are going to continue watching reality TV regardless of incidents linked to the shows in general.
"I don’t think they should cancel ‘Love Island’. There’s a lot more going on than just the reality TV show. I just think the aftercare and the analysis beforehand needs to be properly thought out and properly considered.
"Because it’s down to the person themselves and whether they can cope with certain aspects of each show."
The solicitor admitted her emotions were "tested" soon after leaving the dating show, because after "six to 12 months" former contestants are "on their own".
She said: "As soon as you come out for this show, for the first six months you’re completely busy, it is great and it’s a new experience and you’re adapting to it and enjoying it.
"But as well, I’d say from six to 12 months that’s where you’re sort of on your own.
"The new ‘Love Island’ is coming on soon and you’re adjusting to normal life again soon – or the new norm – and that’s where you’re emotions will really, really test you."
