Peter Crouch in talks for BBC show

Peter Crouch is in talks for his own TV show following the success of his podcast.
The Burnley footballer is wanted to present a programme on the BBC with the "same kind of fun and banter" as his Radio 5 Live pod, which he co-hosts with Tom Fordyce and Chris Stark.
A TV insider said: "BBC bigwigs want him to front his own show, most likely with a fun football backdrop, with the same kind of fun and banter."
BBC bosses are said to be delighted with the listening figures on his podcast, aptly named ‘That Peter Crouch Podcast’, and love his "hilarious anecdotes".
The source added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "The podcast has been a huge hit, with listening figures through the roof.
"Peter’s really come into his own, with his effortless jokes and hilarious anecdotes."
Peter’s pod also got some recognition recently when it was nominated for the Spotlight prize at the upcoming British Podcast Awards.
However, the show faces stiff competition from the BBC’s ‘Fortunately…with Fi and Jane’, ‘George Ezra & Friends’, Giovanna Fletcher’s ‘Happy Mum, Happy Baby’, Fearne Cotton’s ‘Happy Place’, and ‘Katie Piper’s Extraordinary People’.
The footballer has opened up about his life as a footballer on his pod, and once admitted he finds some of the crowd chants "quite funny", but isn’t a big fan of being on the end of "mindless" obscenities.
He said: "I don’t mind a bit of creative abuse, something that’s quite funny.
"It’s the mindless stuff, when people just shout obscenities, that’s not so good."
