Danny Jones joins Soccer Aid

Danny Jones has joined ‘Soccer Aid’.
The McFly guitarist was due to take part in the charity football match in 2016 but had to pull out after fracturing his elbow, and while he admits it was "not a nice feeling" watching from the sidelines, and he can’t wait to make up for lost time this year.
Speaking about his 2016 injury, he said: "It was awful. I was in the first day of training, and we train really hard for it, and I got tackled by Sol Campbell and I just landed funny and cracked my joint in my elbow and broke it.
"So I was out.
"I stayed with the lads and it was like being grounded and all your mates playing out.
"It’s not a nice feeling but it was amazing to be a part of it and see us win."
Danny did manage to pull on an England shirt for ‘Soccer Aid 2008’, and he frequently reminds his wife Georgia Jones that a cross he put in for former England star Alan Shearer to score is "is on par with our wedding day".
What’s more, the pair’s son Cooper, 15 months, looks set to follow in Danny’s footballing footsteps in the coming years.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: "He can’t say a word yet but he’s kicking a ball. It’s amazing. There’s a real bond there over a football."
The musician will be a part of the England team managed by ‘GMB’ co-host Susanna Reid for this year’s match at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge stadium on June 16th.
She will be joined by former England boss Sam Allardyce, and they will face off against World XI gaffers Harry Redknapp and Susanna’s fellow ‘GMB’ presenter Piers Morgan.
What’s more, former England women’s team footballer Rachel Yankey and Katie Chapman will be the first-ever females to take part in ‘Soccer Aid’.
