Lisa Faulkner won’t let John Torode cook on their wedding day.
The loved up couple – who co-star ‘John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen’ – both love their food, but the bride-to-be wants to make sure her man doesn’t end up working during their upcoming nuptials.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ on Thursday (02.05.19), she said: "I think I will have to be making sure that he has not gone off to the kitchen to check on stuff.
"He did say, ‘The night before, I think I will cook this,’ and I was like, ‘You are not cooking anything!’ "
However, the pair are moving along nicely with plans for their special day, and John revealed they have given the food a lot of thought.
He added: "This goes back to the whole premise of the show, what we do at home is really what everybody likes to eat… It will be pretty simple, done nicely and hopefully make everybody smile and not be nervous."
Meanwhile, the happy couple also shed some more light on their engagement after John deliberately timed his Christmas Day (25.12.18) proposal to make sure the special moment was just between the two of them.
He explained: "It was Christmas Day. I did it four hours early, we were away and I did it on purpose because of the time difference so she couldn’t talk to anybody. I had her to myself for four hours."
Lisa admitted: "It was horrific. I just wanted to call my sister. I wanted to tell her and I couldn’t tell anybody. I was like, ‘What time do you think I can call her, 6.30?’ "
The couple pair first met on ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ and she previously stated that she likes to keep their romance low-key.
Lisa said: "Our relationship is as quiet and private as it can be when you both work in television."
