Ty Tennant interested in copying Doctor Who dad David

Ty Tennant says "we will have to wait and see" if he follows in his father David Tennant’s footsteps and becomes ‘Doctor Who’.
The 17-year-old actor’s mother is actress Georgia Moffett and he was adopted by the Scottish actor in the same year that the couple married in 2011.
David, 48, was one of the most popular actors to ever take on the role of the Time Lord, playing the Tenth Doctor in the BBC One sci-fi show from 2005 to 2010, and although Ty hasn’t thought about taking over the TARDIS himself one day he would be keen land the role, which is currently being portrayed by Jodie Whittaker.
When asked if he wanted to play the Doctor like his dad at the premiere of ‘Tolkien’ in London on Monday night (29.04.19), Ty told BANG Showbiz: "That’s a tricky one! We will have to see. I’ve weirdly never thought about it, but who knows!"
Uniquely, Ty also has another relative who has played the iconic TV hero.
His grandfather Peter Davison – who is Georgia’s dad – was the Fifth Doctor from 1981 to 1984 and in 2007 he briefly reprised the role to appear opposite his future son-in-law David in ‘Time Crash’, a special episode written by former showrunner Steven Moffat for ‘Children in Need’.
Peter, 68, previously joked that ‘Doctor Who’ is like "the North Korean dynasty" for his family and they are going to keep passing the role down to new generations.
In an exclusive 2011 interview with BANG Showbiz, he quipped: "We’re just going to pass it on down the line until one of us pops our clogs. It’s all ours now – it’s the Davison and Tennant dynasty."
