Andrea McLean ‘struggled emotionally’ on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins

Andrea Mclean "struggled emotionally" when she took part in ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist – who has previously opened up about battling anxiety – broke down in tears on the show when she relived a terrifying memory from her past that she refuses to speak about, and the star admitted she is now considering therapy to get over her past trauma.
She said: "While taking part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, I struggled emotionally when [lead instructor] Ant Middleton shouted at me, as it brought back dark times. Memories I thought I’d pushed so far down into my head that they weren’t there anymore.
"But I realised that putting memories into a box and thinking ‘I’m not going to look at that anymore’ doesn’t mean they’re gone. I’ve realised I’ve got to confront them and address a few things. I haven’t decided what the best course of action is yet, but possibly therapy. I don’t want to break down again like I did on there."
‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins for Stand Up to Cancer’ 2019 puts 12 stars on gruelling seven-day slog which is led by chief instructor and former soldier Ant Middleton.
And Andrea will be running the Vitality London 10k in her underwear next month, and she revealed that now she is approaching her 50’s, she will be saying yes to "everything".
She told Closer magazine: "I’m 50 this year, and I’ve decided I’m now going to say yes to everything. Anything I think is a bit uncomfortable, challenges me or pushes me out of my comfort zone, I’m going to sign up to do. I’m doing a 10k run in my underwear for charity this month, which is bonkers, but exactly the kind of thing I should be saying yes to.
"Sometimes doing activities isn’t about enjoying them, but proving to yourself you can do them, and it feels great."
