Jimmy Carr says he only works two hours a day

Jimmy Carr says the best thing about being a comedian is only working two hours a day.
The 46-year-old stand-up comic loves his job because he gets to go on tour and travel the world, and joked he gets to spend almost full days vacationing abroad because he gets "all day" to himself.
Jimmy appeared on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (21.03.19) and said: "You get to travel a lot [on tour]. I get all day to myself. I work two hours a day, at most. So the rest of the day you’re just sort of goofing around."
The star also revealed that he loves travelling as a comedian because it encourages him to be inquisitive and interact with people as opposed to just being a passive tourist.
He explained: "It’s also quite nice when you’re a comedian because when you’re travelling you sort of have to ask a lot of questions. Sometimes when you travel on your own, you just look at stuff but don’t really interact."
The ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ host added he doesn’t feel the need to censor his jokes even though there is a lot of pressure to be politically correct, because he thinks his audiences just see his shows as a way to release tension.
He said: "Doing a comedy show is like a safe space. In that theatre everyone has come and bought a ticket and it’s really safe to tell those jokes in that space. It’s about releasing tension and there’s quite a lot of tension around those kind of subject so it’s quite easy to get a laugh out of those things.
"I don’t think people really mind. I don’t think anyone ever really remembers what a comedian says. I think they remember how you make them feel. So they sort of leave after an hour and half. They can’t remember any of the jokes. They go, ‘Well I released a lot of endorphins and I feel better!’ "
