Katherine Jenkins is ‘over the moon’

Katherine Jenkins is "over the moon" to be engaged.

The Welsh opera singer is set to marry writer and director Andrew Levitas, 36, after he popped the question during a trip to the Hamptons, New York on April 15.

A spokesperson for the former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ contestant, 33, confirmed the news and told PEOPLE.com: "Katherine is over the moon."

The blonde beauty thanked her fans for their well wishes after news of her engagement first broke last weekend.

She wrote on Twitter: "Thank you for all your lovely wishes of congratulations. They mean so much to us."

Katherine was previously engaged to presenter Gethin Jones, but they broke up in 2011.

A source previously revealed that Katherine was smitten with her beau, whom she first met last October, saying: "She thinks Andrew is lovely, she hopes this one works out.

"They are literally joined at the hip at the moment and spending all of their time together.

"Katherine has been careful not to flaunt him around as she is used to her high profile relationships going wrong but she reckons this relationship could be the one to last."
