Kieran Bew had to film Liar early so beard didn’t grow too much

Kieran Bew had to film his ‘Liar’ scenes before Christmas so his beard wasn’t too long.
ITV bosses were forced to film several scenes for the second series of the drama before Christmas – and months before the rest of the show – so the 38-year-old actor, who plays Ian in the series, could grow facial hair for another role.
Co-creator Jack Williams told the Series Linked TV podcast: "Kieran Bew, he plays Ian at the end in series one and he’s in an HBO show in which he has to have a very long beard.
"And so we had to film him at the end of last year before the beard got too long. It’s so stupid, it’s so ridiculous.
"But then they had that Superman actor back with a moustache and they had to spend hundreds of thousands CGI-ing his moustache out. So we didn’t have that."
The full cast begin filming the show next month and Liar series two is expected to come out in the Autumn.
The first season concluded in October 2017 and brothers and writing duo Harry and Jack Williams, confirmed it is coming back and that viewers will find out who killed the character Andrew Earlham, played by Ioan Gruffudd.
The series finale drew an overnight audience of more than six million viewers tune in to see Laura Neilson (Joanne Froggatt) bring serial rapist, Andrew, to justice, but in a shocking conclusion Andrew was seen lying on the marshes dead with his throat slit.
Froggatt and Gruffudd will both reprise their roles in the highly-anticipated second series which will explore who killed Andrew in the form of flashback sequences.
