Camilla Thurlow ‘most scared ever’ during Love Island

Camilla Thurlow was the "most scared she’s ever been" during her ‘Love Island’ stint.
The bomb disposal expert appeared on the ITV2 reality show in 2017, where she met her boyfriend Jamie Jewitt, 28, and while she was out of her comfort zone on the programme, she "became a happier person" thanks to the series.
Speaking to The Times newspaper, Camilla said: "Going on ‘Love Island’ was the most scared I’ve ever been. It’s everything I’m not good at: Socialising, relationships, wearing a bikini.
"At that point in my life I’d been quite isolated for quite a time, so the whole reason I went on the show was to re-establish some kind of social life.
"I became a happier person on the island. I definitely didn’t go in expecting to find love. I think I just got lucky."
The 29-year-old star has since landed her own ITVBe documentary, ‘What Camilla Did Next’, which focuses on her life since she left ‘Love Island’, as well as her previous charity work in Cambodia.
The show sees the former humanitarian worker head back to the south-east Asian nation, where she worked for mine clearance charity HALO Trust.
Camilla has been trying to make the most of her newfound celebrity status by raising awareness of the humanitarian cause.
She added: "I desperately wanted to be involved with mine clearance. I’ve always wanted to work outside. I want to be active and doing something constructive, something that would help and change things for someone else.
"Mine clearance is so unbelievably tangible: once it’s gone, it’s gone. It’s potentially a life or a limb saved, and you’ve made the difference."
