Amber Davies dreamed of being a social media queen

Amber Davies "dreamt about having loads of followers" on social media when she was young.
The former ‘Love Island’ star, who has 1.6 million followers on Instagram and 374,000 on Twitter, "loves social media" and isn’t ashamed to admit she’s always been ambitious about acquiring a large online following, even when she was a kid.
In an interview with The London Evening Standard newspaper, Amber, 22, said: "When I was young I always used to dream about having loads of followers. I love social media and I’m not scared to say it. I love seeing what other people do. I’m rooting for people."
The brunette beauty won the ITV reality dating series alongside ex-boyfriend Kem Cetinay in 2017, catapulting herself to fame.
Amber thinks "everybody loves" reality stars because of how relatable they are, but she admits splitting from Kem in the public eye months after the show was one of the "hardest things" she’s ever had to endure.
She said: "People have big opinions on reality stars. But everybody loves us because we’re real. I think some people think we’re robots, that’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through: a break-up in the media. And I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy."
Amber will soon set make her theatre debut in the upcoming West End show ‘9 to 5: The Musical’ and the star believes the production – which is based on the 1980 film of the same name and has been produced by the movie’s star Dolly Parton – which tells the story of three women plotting against their sexist boss is being staged at an important time.
She said: "If you were to put any show on in the West End, this one is perfect because we’re sending out a clear message: the pay gap is still an issue, stereotyping is still an issue."
