Danny Dyer’s Right Royal Row

Danny Dyer told a historian to "f***ing accept it" after the past expert questioned whether King Edward II was gay or not.
The ‘EastEnders’ actor admits he "felt for" the late Medieval monarch, who was widely believed to be homosexual, after finding out about his story on his new show ‘Danny Dyer’s Right Royal Family’, which led to the actor having a "to and fro" with a historian.
He said: "I really did feel for him, a gay medieval king. It was hard enough to be gay in the f***ing 70s, let alone 700 years ago.
"I did take some comfort in the fact he did find love for a bit, with a man, and of course it was exposed and he was murdered for it.
"I was sort of having a bit of a to and fro with the historian, who wasn’t quite sure whether he was gay or not.
"I said to him, ‘Just f***ing accept it, mate. What’s the matter with you?’ "
Danny – who is related to a number of royals, including King Edward III and William The Conqueror – also admitted it was a "horrible feeling" stepping foot in the room where Edward II was killed.
He said: "I went into the room that he was killed in. It was a horrible feeling."
The soap star – who plays pub landlord Mick Carter on the programme – chowed down on a number of medieval delicacies on ‘Right Royal Family’, including a sheep’s tongue which came straight from its head.
And he was determined to "really immerse" himself into the series.
He added to TV Guide magazine: "I think, as a human being, I’ve changed a bit as I’ve got older, and I wanted to show a different side to me.
"I didn’t want to take myself too seriously on this.
"I could’ve got a little bit awkward and I don’t ever take myself too seriously, as a lot of people know."
