Saoirse Ronan misses watching This Morning when she’s working

Saoirse Ronan misses watching ‘This Morning’ when she’s not in the UK.
The ‘Lady Bird’ star is a regular viewer of the live daytime ITV show, and when she phones her mum Monica back home, she always tells her how annoying it is that she can’t watch Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the sofa when she’s away shooting on location.
Appearing on ‘This Morning’ on Thursday (17.01.19), the 24-year-old Irish/American star said: "I will just say that when I am away, I get on the phone to my mam and say I just miss watching Phil and Holly. I watch you guys every day. So when I am away, I genuinely miss watching you more than anything else. I watch it on The Hub."
The two hosts were thrilled to have a Hollywood star as a fan and thanked Saoirse for her kind words.
Saoirse was on the show to speak about her new movie ‘Mary Queen of Scots’, in which she portrays the titular part of Mary Stuart.
Meanwhile, the ‘Brooklyn’ star, who was born in New York but raised in Carlow, south east of Dublin, recently admitted that she considers Ireland to be her real home.
She said: "Even though I was born in the Bronx, I grew up in Ireland and I enjoy going back because it’s where I feel at home. There’s a serenity there that I can’t find anywhere else."
Though living in The Big Apple gave her more independence.
She added: "Living in New York, getting to experience the different cultures and being part of the excitement of that city has been important to me.
"Being there has helped me become more open and outgoing, compared to before, when I was living a sheltered kind of life. I’ve matured a lot lately."
Saoirse – who is an only child – finds it difficult being away from her mother as they are like "best friends".
She admitted: "She’s always been a role model for me and I have so much respect for her sense of dignity and integrity.
"I’ve tried to take after her and bring that same kind of perspective to the way I live.
"Both my parents have taught me to be true to myself and dedicate myself to pursuing the things that are truly meaningful to me."
