Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley calls for Joe Tate return

‘Emmerdale’ star Jeff Hordley wants Joe Tate to make a shock return to the show.
The 48-year-old actor, who plays Cain Dingle on the ITV soap, has called for Ned Porteous’ alter-ego, Joe, to come back from the dead after he was killed off.
The soap star admitted he has discussed the possibility of Joe walking "back through the door one day" with his co-star Charley Webb – who plays his daughter and Joe’s fiancée, Debbie Dingle – with the pair keen to work with the former ‘EastEnders’ actor again.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Jeff said: "I hope Joe walks back through the door one day.
"Both Charley and I have talked about it. We’ve not spoken to Jane Hudson, our exec producer, but me and Charley love working together."
Upcoming scenes on the programme are set to show Cain revealing the truth to his daughter about how her fiance died, and Jeff opened up about what is to come for Cain and Debbie.
She said: "Yes there is a rift but I’m hoping they still come back together at some point, and if the truth of the situation is that Cain didn’t kill Joe, maybe it’s a road back for father/daughter to reunite.
"I’d love that, but that’s the nature of stories like this. It will put us in new territory as father and daughter."
The star previously admitted that despite the violent storyline, it’s been "nice to play something different" and explore different sides to his character.
Speaking of the plot, he said: "It’s new territory for me, so it’s been nice to play something different.
"When you stay in a soap, it’s like an onion and there’s so many layers to get to with the character.
"At the same time, there are also stories that repeat but just with different people."
