Shaun Wallace is proud of Anne Hegerty after facing her first Bushtucker Trial

Shaun Wallace says it "tugged on his heartstrings" to watch Anne Hegerty face her first Bushtucker Trial.
The ‘Chase’ star admitted that he was "proud" watching his quiz show co-star as she fought her biggest fears to take part in her first Bushtucker Trial on ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here’ although he found it hard to watch.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ he said: "It was [hard to watch] it tugged on my heartstrings actually to see her go through that. Anne is normally good under pressure, but she is out of her comfort zone.
"But more power to her, she’s doing very, very well and I’m very proud of her."
Shaun added that Anne’s campmates are fond of her as they’re "seeing a more human side" to her stern alter-ego on the ITV show ‘The Governess’ and praised her for being open about her battle with Asperger’s Syndrome.
He said: "The campmates like her because you’re seeing the more human side to Anne which is really fantastic.
"And the fact that she’s announced to the world that she suffers from autism; it must be very difficult to cope with that condition in an environment totally outside of her comfort zone.
"But she’s trying her very, very best and I hope her efforts will take her all the way. The more she survives in the jungle the greater her chances of winning. And I think she can go all the way."
Explaining her qualities that could crown her the winner, Shaun said: "Anne is resilient and she’s a tough cookie.
"That trial yesterday was a bit difficult, but the more trials she does, the more resilient you’ll see her. And her fellow campmates are giving her support and that will give her strength."
