Harry Reid ‘proud’ after first theatre run

Harry Reid is feeling "very proud" after he completed his run on ‘Witness for the Prosecution’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor – who played Ben Mitchell on the soap until his departure earlier this year – has been treading the boards as Leonard Vole in the Dame Agatha Christie production, and he is already in a reflective mood now the West End run has concluded.
Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, he wrote: "WOW. My first run of a west end show is over.
"What a privilege and honour to work with such amazing actors, a fantastic script and an amazing venue that captured the intensity. Im so very proud of everyone involved.
"I will posting memories from the run later in the week. Leonard Vole, its been a pleasure. (sic)
The show at London’s County Hall came after his ‘EastEnders’ departure following a four-year stint as Ben – but he was excited for the chance to do something new.
He previously told BANG Showbiz: "It’s been a great change for me, really great. Freshened me up, taught me new skills. I’ll take these skills I’ve learnt here into TV, I won’t just disregard them.
"I took skills from ‘EastEnders’ into this."
Harry also admitted he was conscious about ensuring his ‘Witness’ character looking completely different from his ‘EastEnders’ alter-ego Ben, and has found it "a lot easier" to make Vole’s story "humane" in contrast to the Walford resident’s "difficult" life.
He added: "It’s an interesting comparison between the two. It’s hard to follow one straight journey with Ben.
"He is very schizophrenic, in terms of his emotions. He’d suddenly just switch like that, and that’s because of the broken boy he is.
"Leonard has a journey, and it’s a lot easier to follow and make it humane. Ben was difficult because he would just jump."
