Amber Le Bon to star in Celebrity Painting Challenge

Amber Le Bon, George Shelley, and Phil Tufnell are to star in ‘Celebrity Painting Challenge’.
The 29-year-old model will go up against the Union J singer and cricketer as well as Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Jane Seymour, and Josie D’Arby as they put their artistic skills to the test on the four-part series, which will be presented by Mariella Frostrup.
The BBC One show will see the six contestants take part in several challenges which will test their painting prowess, and they will be mentored by Diana Ali and Pascal Anson.
The programme will feature the stars attempt to paint self-portraits as well as still life, landscapes and life drawings, and there will also be fun challenges.
‘Celebrity Painting Challenge’ will air in 2019 and be judged by Daphne Todd and Lachlan Goudie, and as part of the final a selection of paintings from the six artists will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to charity.
Mark Bell, head of arts commissioning at the BBC, said: "Our multi-talented contestants have achieved renown in their different fields, but what is less well known is their love of art.
"This series will put them through their paces as painters, and test whether they can achieve the levels of excellence on canvas that they have achieved on the stage, catwalk, screen and cricket pitch."
Kat Lennox, executive producer of factual entertainment at BBC Studios Productions, admitted there will be "some surprises in store" for the celebrity contestants.
She added: "I’m excited to be working with such a talented team to create a celebrity version of this much-loved competition format which will see talented celebrity artists swap their glamorous jobs in the limelight to get behind an easel.
"The challenges will be designed to test their creativity and there will be some surprises in store, but I’m also looking forward to seeing our celebrity artists grow across the competition."
‘Celebrity Painting Challenge’ will air in spring 2019.
