Dwayne Johnson praises WWE Evolution

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has heaped praise on WWE for its first ever all-female pay-per-view event.
On Sunday night (28.10.18), the company held ‘Evolution’ in New York City headlined by WWE Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey successfully defending her title against ‘Total Bellas’ star Nikki Bella.
The star tweeted: "Congratulations to all the @WWE female Superstars and the company as a whole for tonight’s historic All Women’s PPV #WWEEvolution.
"From The Fabulous Moolah to Sheri Martel to Wendi Richter etc.. all amazing women paving the way for this incredible night. #RESPECT"
John Cena also tweeted his support for the show, and revealed before it kicked off that he was "excited" to be tuning in as a fan.
He wrote: "Tonight is a special night not only for women in @WWE, but every person who’s ever been a fan of our industry. Congratulations to all participating, I’m excited to watch tonight as a fan. #WWEEvolution"
Besides the main event, the show also saw Hall of Famers Lita and Trish Stratus return to the ring and team up in a winning effort against Mickie James and Alicia Fox, who replaced the injured Alexa Bliss in the tag team match.
It was the first time the WWE has held an event only featuring its female stars, and a host of former stars made a comeback for a special ‘battle royale’ at the event.
The historic match saw legends like Molly Holly, Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool and Ivory alongside current starsSonya Deville, Maria Kanellis, Naomi and Asuka.
