Stormzy reveals Paul McCartney’s ‘incredible’ piano lesson

Stormzy says Sir Paul McCartney gave him an "incredible" piano lesson.
The two artists met over the summer when the Beatles legend played a show at Abbey Road Studios in London, and the ‘Hey Jude’ hitmaker delivered some words of wisdom to the grime superstar.
Stormzy told the Sunday Times: "I was just so compelled, in the presence of someone that great, to get advice — anything for my career an OG like him can give me.
"But I know the stigma that comes with being a rapper, so I introduced myself as a songwriter: ‘Can you teach me something?’"
"He went to the piano, and I just thought, ‘Shut up, listen.’ What he taught me was incredible. He said, ‘Use these three chords, and make any song.’ I was, like, ‘Flipping heck!’ "
Paul has previously opened up to the publication about the impromptu lesson he gave the rapper to help him improve his musicianship.
He explained: "Stormzy asked for advice. He’s looking to advance his music.
"As a rapper, I thought he’d have words down, but there was a piano, so I showed him basic stuff – how you get middle C, make a chord, a triad and, just by moving that, get D minor, E minor, F, G, A minor, and how that’s enough for anyone."
Meanwhile, the 76-year-old star has also admitted he would love to experiment with electronic music and collaborate with an EDM artist in the future.
He said: "Yeah I would. When I do electronic music it tends to be me as ‘The Nutty Professor’ in his lab! But, I wouldn’t rule out the idea."
