Terri Irwin wouldn’t have married if she hadn’t met Steve Irwin

Terri Irwin admits if she’d never met late husband Steve Irwin, "she’d never have married".
The 54-year-old conservationist – who was married to Steve until he tragically died in 2006 when he was killed by a stingray whilst filming one of his documentaries on the Great Barrier Reef – has revealed she is happy and "content", but still misses Steve daily.
Speaking to Closer magazine, Terri said: "I always wish Steve was here, but I do feel he’s watching over us.
"If I hadn’t met Steve, I’d never have married. I’m content with myself and what I’ve got going on with my life. But I do think that it’s amazing when people have loved before and get the opportunity to love again.
"That’s really beautiful. Will it be me? I don’t know, I’m not really looking. I miss Steve, but I’m content.
"I have two awesome kids. They’re so passionate about carrying on Steve’s conservation work, I can’t imagine them doing anything else. At first, I’d wish Steve was here and that he could do this better, but now, it’s becoming more special and another way to honour what he has done."
Terri – who has her and Steve’s two children Bindi, 20 and Robert, 14 – confessed that she still finds "milestone moments difficult" despite Steve’s passing 12 years ago, and knows he’d be "proud" of what they have achieved.
Terri added: "The milestone moments are really difficult – when the kids get a good grade, or when Bindi got her first boyfriend.
"I hope he’d be proud of them. Robert is exactly like his dad, physically and in his mannerisms. And when I watch him talk, so much of what he does is like Steve. Bindi is a tender soul, but is up for anything and is a stack of fun.
