Channel 5’s Celebrity Game Night

Channel 5 has commissioned new game show ‘Celebrity Game Night’.
The six-part programme will be based on the popular Jane Lynch-hosted US programme, ‘Hollywood Game Night’, and will be fronted by Liza Tarbuck, alongside team captain duo Danny Baker and Susan Calman.
Six celebrities will join Liza, Danny and Susan to battle it out in a series of party games with the help of a live band.
Channel 5’s editor Sebastian Cardwell said: "’Hollywood Game Night’ is a huge hit Stateside and we can’t wait to bring the celebrity chaos and comedy to UK audiences."
Will Macdonald, executive producer at Monkey, added: "Why should the Americans have all the good times? Now the fun-deprived celebrities of the UK are going to get the chance to gather and do some ludicrous things by Liza’s fireside. Let the games begin!"
‘Hollywood Game Night’ – which launched in the US in 2013 – was created by ‘Will & Grace’ actor Sean Hayes and producer Todd Milliner.
The game show has been remade across 19 territories, with the UK being the 20th to have the show commissioned.
Earlier this year, TV and radio host Danny hit out at BBC Radio 2 for hiring "TV celebs" rather than people like him with "extensive experience in music".
He tweeted: "Good evening @BBCRadio2 Isn’t it strange I’m am a 10 times Sony Gold Radio winner with extensive experience in music, one of the most revered broadcasters of his time, with a massive record collection…yet you won’t touch me with a f***ing barge pole and hire TV celebs instead? (sic)"
