Drake fan Duayne Eddy

Duane Eddy is a huge fan of Drake and would love to work with him.
The 80-year-old American guitar legend thinks the ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’ hitmaker has a wonderful voice and he would be honoured to make music with him or have one of his famous riffs sampled by the Canadian star.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the Q Awards at The Roundhouse in London on Wednesday (17.10.18), he said: "I would be honoured [if he sampled one of my records]. I think Drake is just great, I just love his voice, you know and the things he does with his records. It’s just so creative."
Duane – who was at the event to present Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil with the Fender Play Award for guitar innovation – also revealed that he is hugely inspired by The Black Keys and he is keen to work with Dan Auerbach again after collaborating with him on the duo’s last album.
He said: "I’ve done work with Dan Auerbach way back … he is a great player and singer … he’s fantastic. We may do something else in the future, I don’t know. He’s working on a bunch of stuff – he never stops."
In recent years Duane has been approached by many artists who want to tell him that his playing on tracks such as ‘Rebel Rouser’, ‘Peter Gunn’ and ‘Moovin’ and Groovin” has inspired their music.
He said: "It’s been a joy and really rewarding. I’ve had these great young musicians come and say, ‘You started me playing, you influenced me.’ I tell you, if you aren’t careful you can get pretty egotistical over that. But I don’t, I just figure it’s part of the job and I’m happy that I succeeded."
