Vincent D’Onofrio wants Kingpin role in Spider-Man

Vincent D’Onofrio would love to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as ‘Spider-Man’ villain Kingpin.
The 59-year-old actor appeared as Wilson Fisk and his villainous alter-ego during the first season of Netflix show ‘Daredevil’, but after being imprisoned at the end of the season, his role was significantly reduced for season two.
Fisk is due to return in a bigger capacity in season three – which airs on Netflix later this month – and following his larger role, Vincent has said he would love to take the criminal mastermind over to Marvel’s blockbuster ‘Spider-Man’ movie franchise, as the character was originally a nemesis of the web swinging hero.
Vincent made the admission after responding to a fan who said they felt disappointed they’d "likely never" see the former ‘Law and Order: Criminal Intent’ star gracing the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise.
The fan wrote: "DAMN. Seeing the new Daredevil trailer just makes me endlessly, endlessly sad we will likely never see @vincentdonofrio as the Kingpin in a Spider-Man movie. What absolutely PERFECT casting."
And Vincent simply replied: "Who says?"
If Kingpin is to appear in a ‘Spider-Man’ movie, it won’t be for some time, as Marvel’s follow up to last year’s ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ – subtitled ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ – is already in development for a 2019 release.
Plot details for the new movie are unknown as of the time of writing, but Tom Holland will reprise his role as the titular hero, alongside Michael Keaton as villain Vulture, Jake Gyllenhaal as the evil Mysterio, Zendaya as MJ, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ is scheduled to be released on July 5, 2019.
