Didi Conn and Saara Aalto confirmed for Dancing on Ice

Didi Conn and Saara Aalto have been confirmed for ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The ‘Grease’ actress – who played Frenchie in the classic 1978 film – and the former ‘X Factor’ contestant are among the celebrities set to compete on the programme in the new year, and the 67-year-old star is swapping her Pink Ladies jacket for her skates.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she said: "Boy oh boy, I’m going from being a Pink Lady to Queen of the Ice. Yes, it’s true. I’m going to be in the line-up for ‘Dancing on Ice’ 2019.
"I’m coming to the UK on Monday, I’m sure I’ll get to see you."
Saara, 31, has also been confirmed for the programme.
A message on the ‘Dancing on Ice’ Instagram account read: "This Finnish superstar has already conquered Eurovision and The X Factor – now she’s taking on Dancing On Ice! Welcome to the show, @saaraaalto (sic)"
This comes after ‘Coronation Street’ star Jane Danson confirmed yesterday (04.10.18) she will also be getting her skates on for the show, and admits it will be "a challenge".
She said: "I’ve known since July so quite a while, so I’ve had to keep it under my hat for a long time. The next few days I’ll be starting the training. I can skate a little bit.
"I think, obviously, when you take on something like this, you’ve got to expect that it’s not without risks but I’m not really thinking about that because I’m seeing it as a challenge."
Former ‘EastEnders’ star Richard Blackwood has signed up for the programme alongside TOWIE’s Gemma Collins, ex-Westlife star Brian McFadden, Loose Women’s Saira Khan, former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, comedian Mark Little, and cricketer Ryan Sidebottom.
Former ‘Strictly’ pro dancer James Jordan has also signed up for the series.
He said: "I’m so excited that I’m going to be on ‘Dancing on Ice’ this year. Yes, I can dance, but can I ice skate? No. This is going to be a little bit of a problem I think."
