Cardi B has reportedly collaborated with her enemy Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend Meek Mill.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker is currently locked in a public feud with the 35-year-old rapper after they got into a scrap at a New York Fashion Week after party last month, but things look set to get even messier between them over the next coming weeks as Cardi has been working on new music with the ‘Bang Bang’ hitmaker’s former flame.
According to TMZ.com, Cardi and Meek – who share the same label Atlantic Records – recorded the song a few months ago but news of their collaboration is only just coming out now, which will no doubt rub salt in the wound for the brunette rap star given their spat.
It’s not yet known what the song is about or whether it will be a standalone single or a track off Meek’s forthcoming album, but Nicki will probably have something to say about it.
The ‘Barbie Dreams’ hitmaker – who dated Meek for two years from 2015 – lashed out at Cardi last month after footage of their fight surfaced online.
She said: "You knew that when that footage came out, you were about to look dumb. So your team, they hurry up and put out a statement. I didn’t stop anyone’s bags. She had to say that because she has built her career of sympathy and payola. The other night I was part of something so mortifying and so humiliating to go through in front of a bunch upper echelon people who have their life together. I was in a Gaultier gown — off the motherf***ing runway- and I could not believe how humiliated we all felt."
Nicki felt the need to share her side of the story after Cardi, 25, took to her Instagram account to accuse her of bad mouthing her two-month-old daughter Kulture – whom she has with her husband Offset – and trying to ruin her career by interfering with her collabs.
The ‘Be Careful’ hitmaker fumed: "I’ve let a lot of sh*t slide. I let you sneak diss me. I let you lie on me. I let you attempt to stop my bags, f**k up the way I eat! You’ve threatened other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f**king with them! I let you talk big sh*t about me.
"I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person and every time you copped a plea!! But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f**king off! I’ve worked too hard and come too far to let anybody f**k with my success!!!
