Bond bosses ‘re-hire original scriptwriter pair’ after Danny Boyle exit

‘Bond 25’ bosses have re-hired the movie’s original scriptwriters.
Neal Purvis and Robert Wade were initially on board to pen the suave spy motion picture before director Danny Boyle and screenwriter John Hodge joined the film, but the pair are said to be back on board after the pair withdrew from the movie.
A Hollywood executive close to the production told the Daily Mail newspaper: "The Purvis and Wade treatment they wrote earlier was already signed off before the bromance with Danny Boyle and John Hodge began."
Purvis and Wade – who have worked on six other Bond movies – will now turn their treatment into a full-on script, but the film’s new director is also expected to bring in a screenwriter to put their own spin on the motion picture.
‘Bond 25’ will see Daniel Craig reprise his role as British intelligence operative James Bond for a final time after starring in ‘Casino Royale’, ‘Quantum of Solace’, ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’, all of which were penned by Purvis and Wade alongside at least one other writer.
Despite being director-less, the movie is still expected to drop on November 8, 2019, but it has been widely speculated that the film could miss that date if a new helmer is not found soon.
What’s more, Craig added to the speculation that ‘Bond 25’ may be delayed when it was revealed last week that he has joined the cast of Rian Johnson’s new film ‘Knives Out’, and the director hinted the 50-year-old star became available after Boyle’s Bond exit.
He said: "I have been a huge fan and always wanted to work with him and as I worked on the script, trying to get it right, Ram and I were wringing our hands over who could be the detective.
"Then, serendipitously, we heard Daniel might have a small window, and it worked out. He’s an actor of extraordinary range, and we are looking forward to the fun of finding that modern detective, and collaborating with Daniel on creating a new ‘Poirot’."
Craig is expected to start shooting ‘Knives Out’ in November, but it’s not known when a new Bond director will be appointed.
Edgar Wright and Jean-Marc Vallee are said to be among the front-runners to replace Boyle.
