Keith Duffy approached for Coronation Street return

Keith Duffy has been asked to return to ‘Coronation Street’ "a couple of times".
The Boyzone singer – who portrayed Ciaran McCarthy from 2002 to 2005 and again from 2010 to 2011 – insists he’s not tempted to go back to the soap for a third stint because it’s such a "full-on job".
Asked if he’s been asked to go back, he said: "A couple of times, yeah. [Am I tempted?] No, it’s a full-on job, six days a week, 14 hours a day, living in Manchester. I love Manchester but my home is in Ireland."
And even a hefty pay cheque wouldn’t change Keith’s mind.
He said: "I’m not money-driven, we all grew up very humbly and we’re grateful for what we achieved. I love the acting and I’d love to pursue that further but I love what we do and I’d love it if this tour went on for 10 years."
The 43-year-old star will always treasure his time on ‘Corrie’ because it gave him direction after Boyzone split up in 1999 and taught him a lot about acting.
Speaking backstage at BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park on Sunday (09.09.18), he told BANG Showbiz: "I’d never say no [to going back], I loved ‘Corrie’, it came at a very important part of my life.
"Ronan [Keating] and Stephen [Gately] predominantly did the lead vocals in Boyzone so when we broke up, a solo career for me wasn’t really on the cards – I’m a great singer like but I didn’t have the profile Ronan had.
"’Corrie’ picked me up when I was a little bit lost and it gave me direction and an education. I was there for 10 years, I did a lot of theatre, and I love to do that."
