Georgia Taylor: Jane Danson was huge factor in Corrie comeback

Georgia Taylor would’ve turned down a ‘Coronation Street’ return if Jane Danson wasn’t still on the soap.
The 38-year-old actress reprised her role as Toyah Battersby on the ITV soap in 2016 – 13 years after she left Weatherfield – and admitted her on-screen sister, who plays Leanne Battersby, still being there was a "huge factor" when she was considering about a cobbles comeback.
She said: "I wouldn’t have come back if you weren’t there. Definitely, that was such a huge factor me.
"I was like, ‘My buddy’s there, it’s going to be fine.’ I was ringing you all the time going, ‘I don’t know what to do.’
"So I knew it was going to be fine."
The pair are often inundated with selfie requests when they are out and about, and Georgia recently had to turn down one fan who asked for a picture while she was sitting in the reception at her doctor’s surgery.
But she insists the supporter was not trying to cause her "harm or distress", and vice-versa.
She said: "I do believe that in that incident the person who asked me did not mean to cause me any harm or stress, and the likewise with me turning around and saying, ‘I don’t feel comfortable with this.’ I didn’t mean to cause them any harm or distress.
"Generally, we always say yes."
Speaking in a joint interview on ‘Lorraine’, Jane added: "You do forget that you’re in people’s living rooms five or six times a week.
"It’s a constant reminder that people do know you."
