Tanya Bardsley ‘grateful’ for life after home fire

Tanya Bardsley was "grateful" her family were unharmed in a fire at their home, despite losing "everything".
The ‘Real Housewives of Cheshire’ star – who is married to footballer Phil Bardsley – was shook up after a blaze at their house, but she insisted they were actually "lucky".
Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: "We have lost everything, but I am not even bothered about that. I was just so so grateful that my daughter was alright.
"Everyone kept saying about the house, but I was like ‘it doesn’t matter, it’s fine’. We’ve only lost material things, no sentimental stuff. So we are lucky in that way."
The couple’s 16-year-old daughter Gabriella was the only one at home, as her parents and siblings Rocco, Renz and Ralphi were all out at the time.
She admitted that while her eldest child has "bounced back" after the terrifying incident, it has still left them shook up – particularly Rocco.
She said: "The other children were really upset, just hearing the word fire.
"We thought the little one didn’t have a clue but then he kept wetting himself and he never does that. But once he got back with us and was settled, he was fine."
The 37-year-old reality star explained that despite the pressures and strains – it could be six months until they get into their own home again – she has turned the fire into a positive.
She added: "I am just thinking about what we have and how grateful I am. It could have been so much worse. Because of the heatwave there was another house fire the day before and someone died so I am just so grateful that my daughter is safe. Since the fire, I don’t cling onto stuff, I just think life’s too short."
