Mikey North wants Rita Sullivan Corrie affair

Mikey North has hinted his ‘Coronation Street’ character will have an affair with Rita Sullivan.
The 31-year-old actor would love to see his alter-ego Gary Windass get up close and personal with Barbara Knox’s character, because he is so fond of the 84-year-old actress.
He said: "I think my dream would be an affair with Rita. I love Barbara to pieces, so hopefully that might materialise. She’s lovely."
Mikey recently took a two-month break from the cobbles after Gary played a part in bumping off evil serial killer Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre), and the actor has admitted it wasn’t his choice to depart Weatherfield for so long.
He said: "It wasn’t a chosen break, it’s just the way it goes sometimes. It was a big storyline when we got rid of Pat Phelan and Gary just went quiet for a little bit.
"That storyline was a real blessing, I enjoyed doing that. It was a privilege to be involved in getting rid of the biggest baddie the show’s ever had."
While Mikey is hard at it on the cobbles when he is awake, he is also busy pounding the pavements when he is asleep.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he added: "I’m a horrendous sleep walker. I leave the house. I’ve been known to try to let myself in next door in my pants. I’ve woken up on the street with my duvet.
"If you like on my street watch out. I’m coming for you next!"
Mikey previously opened up about his sleep walking, saying: "At some point, someone is going to come home from a night out and see Gary Windass out with his Y-fronts on."
