James Sutton suffering from viral gastroenteritis

James Sutton has been struck down with viral gastroenteritis for the last four days.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor – who played John Paul McQueen in the Channel 4 soap on an off from 2006 to 2017 – revealed "everything hurts" due to the intestinal infection, which is also known as stomach flu and can cause diarrhoea and vomiting, and he has appealed to Twitter users to find out how much longer he will be in pain for.
He wrote on Twitter: "How long does Viral Gastroenteritis last for? Bored now.
"This is day 4. Everything hurts. (sic)"
Several of James’ supporters sent well wishes to him on the social media site, and his former ‘Hollyoaks’ co-star Joe Tracini (Dennis Savage) couldn’t resist a light-hearted response.
He wrote: "If it’s anything like going viral on Twitter, roughly 2 to 3 days. If not, please don’t die. (sic)"
One follower suggested that if the infection hadn’t disappeared in 48 hours "it means you’re dead", to which James quipped back: "Ah s**t. Wipe my internet history please lad. (sic)"
Earlier this year, the former ‘Emmerdale’ star – who portrayed Ryan Lamb in the soap for two years – admitted he has experienced "snobbery" about starring in soaps, but insisted such actors are the "best in the business" and work extremely hard.
He said: "Some soap actors have been doing their roles for years. There is a reason for that – they are the best in the business, they are professionals. They turn up day after day, week after week."
