Corrie’s Daniel Brocklebank blasts Twitter troll

‘Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank has hit back at a Twitter troll who criticised his "tight trousers".
The 38-year-old actor – who plays vicar Billy Mayhew – in the ITV soap, was the subject of a cruel treat from a viewer, who called him a "s**t actor".
The commenter wrote: "Billy is a s**t actor and a totally unbelievable vicar, tight trousers and rolled up sleeves, get rid…"
However, Daniel hit back with a devastating tweet, where he mocked the Twitter user’s knowledge of "acting, costume design and the clergy".
He wrote: "Thank you for your review David. I’ll be passing your comments on to the relevant departments. Especially seeing as you have degrees in acting, costume design & extensive knowledge relating to the clergy."
And Daniel also told his followers that his mother had agreed that his trousers were too tight.
He tweeted: "Mum & I sat watching corrie together… Mum: ‘Gosh those trouser don’t leave much to the imagination.. I wonder where you get that from. It certainly isn’t your dad’."
Meanwhile, ‘Coronation Street’ was previously cleared following more than 200 complaints about vicar Billy taking heroin in a church.
Ofcom received 211 complaints after the drug-taking vicar was seen lying in the holy building in the aftermath of taking the addictive substance, but the UK communications regulator will not be investigating the soap.
In the scenes, which aired at the end of Monday February 26th’s 8.30pm episode, Billy obtained the Class A drug from his dodgy brother Lee Mayhew (Richard Crehan) and they were then seen looking spaced out on the floor of the church.
Lee said: "This must be what heaven feels like."
But the act of taking the drug was not shown on screen, and ‘Corrie’ insisted they would go on to show the "very negative" side to taking such substances.
A spokeswoman said at the time: "’Coronation Street’ has a strong tradition of tackling serious contemporary issues in a responsible way.
"In upcoming episodes we will be showing the very negative side of drug taking as Billy’s life starts to fall apart."
And Daniel insisted it is an "important" story to tell.
He said: "To tell the story, to show that hard-working moral people can fall into that state, is an important story to tell.
"People have been shocked because Billy started off such a sweet, amiable character, and so for him to turn into that."
Billy had been obtaining methadone from his brother after becoming hooked on prescription drugs, but he was forced to turn to the harder stuff.
He started to become desperate since he was left in a wheelchair after he fell over a cliff on Christmas Day.
