Declan Donnelly will not host I’m A Celeb alone

ITV have confirmed Declan Donnelly will not present ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ alone.
Kevin Lygo, who is head of studios at the channel, has revealed Dec will co-host the show alongside another presenter after it was confirmed earlier this month that his regular co-host Ant McPartlin will take the rest of the year off from TV commitments.
Speaking at The Edinburgh International Television Festival in Scotland today (23.08.18), he said: "We’ll find someone to stand by his side."
Piers Morgan could well get the chance to replace Ant – who was fined £86,000 for drink-driving earlier this year, and has spent time in rehab recently – after Kevin joked the ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter might get the nod to team up with Dec.
He quipped: "It’s going to be Piers Morgan. No, I don’t know, it could be Jeremy Corbyn. I can’t say."
Kevin confirmed Ant is "doing really well" and is on the road to recovery.
He said: "The good news is that he’s doing really well, he’s doing everything he should be doing to get better.
"We collectively thought, let’s give it a good amount of time off, this is a slow procedure, that’s what we’ve decided to do."
Kevin’s comments come just weeks after ITV revealed Ant will not co-host ‘I’m A Celeb’ with Dec this year, and their show ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ will be rested until 2020.
Ant said in a statement: "My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off.
"I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the new year."
Dec added: "Whilst I am obviously sad at the thought of being without my best friend in Australia this year, I am proud of the work Ant has been doing privately and I am fully supportive of his decision.
"I’m looking forward to us both being reunited on screen in 2019."
But the pair have vowed to bring ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ back "bigger and better than ever" in 2020.
A statement on their joint website read: "Neither Ant & Dec nor ITV wanted to compromise the quality of the show and therefore felt it was better to rest the series next year.
"They will instead bring the show back in 2020, bigger and better than ever."
