Poldark will return for a sixth series

Poldark’s writer has confirmed that there will be a sixth season of the drama.
Debbie Horsfield says the hit BBC One show, which stars Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson, will continue for another series, but it won’t be "for some time".
Speaking on Radio 2’s ‘Good Morning Sunday’, she said: "We still have five books to do. The BBC wants to do the final five books, the cast want to do it and I want to do it.
"So I’m sure, yes, there will be a sixth series – but it won’t be for some time."
The 18th century period drama follows Aidan as Captain Ross Poldark – a soldier returning to Cornwall after the American Revolutionary War who is tasked with turning round his late father’s estate – all the while his true love is engaged to someone else.
Aidan, 35, has attracted countless female fans due to his famous physique and shirtless scenes in the show, but the star has to fast to fit into his costumes.
Speaking about how he stays in shape for the show, he said: "I’m always ticking away on that [exercise]. Intermittent fasting is good for energy levels, and those costumes are quite tight!"
Aidan’s flesh-flashing scenes as Poldark have attracted some complaints that he is being unfairly objectified by women, but the Irish heartthrob isn’t interested in the argument.
Referring to the controversy, he said: "I am sick of it now. I’ve commented on it so many times. The more I talk, the more it snowballs."
