Amanda Bynes ‘free to be herself’

Amanda Bynes "feels free to be herself" these days, despite her conservatorship being extended until 2020.
The 32-year-old actress was placed on conservatorship in 2014 after several run-ins with police, and although she recently had it extended by another two years – meaning her mother Lynn will continue "to make decisions about medical issues" on her behalf – the star couldn’t be more "excited" about her future.
Family attorney Tamar Arminak said: "Both Amanda and her parents are on such good terms and happy with Amanda’s life and future, the conservatorship is the last thing on their minds. The fact that Amanda is living on her own, making her own decisions and future plans is something her parents are so proud of.
"Finally she is surrounded by friends and companions she can trust and really open up to. She feels free to be herself, which brings her so much happiness and excitement for the future."
The former child star – whose last acting role was in 2010’s ‘Easy A’ alongside Emma Stone – is currently enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and can’t wait to graduate and further her career.
Tamar added to ‘Entertainment Tonight’: "She is looking forward to graduating and the next phase of her life."
Amanda’s conservatorship means that whilst she is in control of her own finances, it is her mother who acts as conservator over her "person", including any medical issues she may have.
The decision to place her under conservatorship came after she was arrested for driving under the influence in 2012, and later charged with two hit and runs, as well as being arrested at her home for possession of marijuana, attempting to tamper with evidence and reckless endangerment.
She was also sectioned for mental health issues after she attempted to start a fire outside a family home.
