Corrie’s Sean Tully rescued by ex

‘Coronation Street’s Sean Tully will be saved from homelessness by his ex-partner.
The former factory worker found himself in dire straits in recent months as a series of setbacks sent him living on the streets and when Sean (played by Antony Cotton) finds himself at rock bottom, he turns to his ex-boyfriend Vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) for help.
Billy sees Sean at a food van for the homeless and lends a hand when Sean’s friend Carol gets attacked. This leads Sean to finally reach out and ask the vicar for help.
Antony told What’s On TV: "Sean feels ashamed and, at first, he doesn’t want to accept help.
"He thinks, ‘I got myself into this situation and I’ll get myself out of it’. It’s all about pride – which is why he ended up homeless in the first place.
"But being homeless is such an enormous beast of a problem, so he does get to a point where he accepts that he needs help. He returns to the street and says to Billy, ‘I can’t do this on my own’."
And it doesn’t take Sean long to find his feet after Billy offers him a place to stay and Sean gets his old job back at the factory.
Antony added: "Sean is a very positive person – he doesn’t have a single enemy on the street. So once something positive happens, he grabs onto that and goes with it."
Sean was sacked by new Rovers Return owners Jenny and Johnny Connor after they caught him giving a free drink to one of his homeless pals but Antony is sure Sean will be back behind the bar in no time.
He said: "In my mind, he’ll now do everything he can to get right back into the heart of the community. He’ll want to be back behind that Rovers bar – bigger, bolder and better than ever."
