25k people apply for Love Island 2019

More than 25,000 people have applied for ‘Love Island’ 2019.
The ITV2 show has been a huge hit over the past few years and made stars out of its former contestants – including Kem Cetinay, Amber Davies and Chris Hughes – and, as a result, a record number of people have applied for next year’s programme.
Speaking on ‘Love Island: The Reunion’ on Sunday (07.08.18), host Caroline Flack said: "If you think you have what it takes to flirt outrageously with people like this lot then applications for next year are now open. We’ve already had 25,000 people register."
Those who wish to apply for the show need to submit several photographs, including at least one full body shot, a one-minute video and also provide their job title.
The advert for contestants on ITV’s website reads: "Have you got what it takes to be an Islander and survive a summer in paradise?
"How do you fancy enjoying your very own long hot summer of romance? Love Island will be back for summer 2019 and we’re now on the lookout for lively singles from across the country to take part.
"Once again our Islanders will take up residence in a spectacular luxury villa in the hope of finding love. But to stay on the island, they need to couple up – and more importantly – win the hearts of the public.
"If you think you’ve got what it takes, then we want to hear from you straight away.
"Don’t mug us off – register your interest now if you’re over 18, and you could be spending next summer in paradise."
Applications close on April 30, 2019.
This year, Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham won the show by an overwhelming majority and shared the £50,000 prize.
They are set to film their own reality TV show about life outside the villa, which will follow them as they move in together.
