Jennifer Lopez didn’t give Cardi B any advice when she was pregnant, because she hated receiving tips herself.
The 49-year-old singer and actress – who has 10-year-old twins Max and Emme with her former husband Marc Anthony – worked with the rapper on the set of Jennifer’s new track ‘Dinero’ whilst Cardi was pregnant with her daughter Kulture Kiari, now three weeks.
But despite being a mother herself, Jennifer insisted she refused to give the ‘Bodack Yellow’ hitmaker any parenting tips, as she recalled how much she disliked receiving them herself when she was pregnant.
She told Music Choice: "When we were doing the video and she was preggies, I was just like, ‘Are you good? Do you want to sit down?’
"That’s what [new moms] need – they need a little pampering. Take care of them. No advice.
"When I was pregnant and everybody was like this and that, I was like, ‘Please just stop telling me all these things. Can I just figure it out? I kinda want to figure it out on my own. I know I’m not going to be perfect, but let me just do my [thing].’ Everybody has so much advice for you."
Despite not being given any advice, Cardi, 25, seems to be taking motherhood in her stride, as she recently revealed that although her baby – whom she has with her husband and Migos rapper Offset – is definitely the "boss", she is keeping up with her demands.
She said: "I met my match. She is very demanding. I can’t believe I have a boss. I really have a boss. When my baby wanna eat, she wanna eat. It’s not like, ‘Oh, three minutes,’ no. ‘Gimme the milk now!’ You gotta burp her right away – everything, everything, everything. She wants everything."
