Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer’s landslide victory

Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer were crowned the winners of ‘Love Island’ following a landslide voting victory.
A voting breakdown released by ITV has showed the much-loved couple won the reality TV series and £50,000 on Monday night (30.07.18) after receiving a whopping 79.66 per cent of the vote.
Runners-up Laura Anderson and Paul Knops only managed to gain 8.43 per cent of the public’s votes with third-placed couple Josh Denzel and Kazimir Crossley receiving 6.05 per cent.
ITV have confirmed the hit reality show will return next year after an audience of 3.6 million viewers tuned in to the live finale.
Paul Mortimer, ITV’s Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions, said: "’Love Island’ was once again the must-see show of the summer.
"At ITV2, we were thrilled with the level of younger viewer engagement to the extent that it broke all our previous audience records and is now firmly established as the biggest ever series in the multi-channel space.
"The main show, The ‘Hot List’ and ‘Aftersun’ have all helped propel ITV2 towards what will undoubtedly be its most successful year so far."
What’s more, the latest crop of ‘Love Island’ stars appear to have inspired Brits to try to get jobs similar to the contestants.
New insight from UK hiring app Job Today found there has been a 40 per cent increase in applications for jobs similar to this year’s Islanders.
Careers in construction, such as engineering and carpentry – jobs carried out by Wes Nelson and Paul knops respectively – have seen a 43 per cent rise in applications.
The app reported a rise of almost 2,000 applicants following the start of the reality TV show.
