Roxanne Pallet slams trolls after horror smash

Roxanne Pallet claims some of the stock car racing community were "almost disappointed" that she "only" suffered internal bruising and sprained wrists after her horror smash last week.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ star has been inundated with messages from vile trolls following her near-death experience, during which she lost consciousness for around 30 seconds after crashing a stock car into a concrete wall, and admitted she has "never felt pain like it" before.
She said: "The team at the race track, they were phenomenal, I had all the right gear on, I had the protective clothing on, the helmet. The guys were wonderful and supportive.
"I respect the sport completely. And I have to say this because I’ve had some really negative comments on social media that’s been really upsetting from the stock car racing community almost lacking compassion.
"They were almost disappointed that I’d been airlifted and only come out of it with some internal bruising and sprained wrist.
"I’ve got to also point out that sometimes injuries can be invisible. My head doesn’t feel right, I can barely stretch my ribs and back are so sore.
"There’s people every day walking around with injuries and disabilities that are invisible to the eye and people need to remember that."
The 36-year-old actress admits she is "lucky" to be alive following the potentially life-threatening incident.
She recalled: "It was like time stood still. I remember waking up and just hearing my own breath. I was so out of breath. I could feel my heart racing, I could hear voices.
"I must have had my eyes closed, they said I’d lost consciousness for about 30 seconds.
"The minute I woke up I knew it wasn’t good. I think that’s why they airlifted me because I couldn’t feel my legs and my neck and my head. I’ve never felt pain like it. I’m so lucky."
Firefighters spent two hours cutting Roxanne out of the car, which she admits she "lost control" of before blacking out, and she was then air-lifted to a nearby hospital.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, she added: "I just remember being excited, and it was new, and then realising very fast that the car was more powerful than me and when I was revving to drive, I didn’t expect it to be so quick. I just lost control.
"I couldn’t brake and I couldn’t turn it round the corner. I could just see that I was about to hit and then that was when I lost … I just blacked out."
