Rula Lenska eyes Coronation Street spin-off show

Rula Lenska wants to star in a ‘Coronation Street’ spin-off show, in which her and Sue Nicholls’ characters holiday in Puerto Banus.
The 70-year-old actress has returned to the ITV soap to reprise her role as Claudia Colby, who will reignite her love-hate relationship with Audrey Roberts (Sue), and she is hoping the show’s producers consider shooting a special show of the two characters on vacation in Marbella.
She said: "I’d like them to go on holiday together – somewhere like Puerto Banus."
The former ‘Rock Follies’ star is keen to remain in Weatherfield for the foreseeable future, and has set her sights on her and Sue’s warring alter-egos setting up business together with a joint hair salon, as opposed going up against one another.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "My determination is to stamp Claudia on ‘Corrie’ and ‘Corrie’ on Claudia, so she will last. And this delicious relationship with Audrey is allowed to blossom.
"I’d love to do a long stint and amalgamate their businesses together.
"Claud can do her semi-permanent make-up and funky haircuts in one bit, and Aud can do her blue rinses in the other.
"I think that it’d be terribly funny."
Rula’s latest ‘Corrie’ stint is due to go on until October/ November time, but she recently admitted she would be keen to call the cobbles her home for the next two years.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I’d love to do a year or a couple of years and get embroiled in the family of ‘Coronation Street’.
"This is my first time in the new studios. Already now I’ve had dealings and scenes with people who I had no contact with before. So it’s looking good."
