Alesha Dixon joins The Greatest Dancer

Alesha Dixon and Jordan Banjo will co-host ‘The Greatest Dancer’.
The 39-year-old ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge and Diversity dancer have joined the line-up for BBC One’s newest Saturday evening talent show, which is being co-produced by Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment.
Alesha – who went on to become a judge on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ between 2009 and 2011 after winning the competition in 2007 – said: "I can’t wait to be a part of ‘The Greatest Dancer’ and work with Jordan. As a massive fan of dance I’m so excited about the prospect of finding amazing new dance talent."
Meanwhile, ‘Dancing On Ice’ presenter Jordan, 25, also has plenty of experience with Simon’s competitions, having won ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in 2009 with his dance troupe.
He added: "I’m so excited to be a part of ‘The Greatest Dancer’.
"Coming from a talent show myself with Diversity has shown me how much a show like this can change your life, so to be on the other side hosting is going to be an awesome experience."
Judges for the show are yet to be confirmed, but there have been reports that Cheryl Tweedy, 35, could be joining the panel.
The former Girls Aloud singer – who was a judge for six series of ‘The X Factor’ from 2008 – took part in the filming for the pilot episode of the show earlier this year, and it’s thought she could be in line for a role in the full series.
Last week, it was reported that Simon, 58, was keen to land ‘Strictly’ judge Bruno Tonioli, 62, alongside pro Oti Mabuse, 27, for the new programme.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "Simon has always thought the world of Bruno and thinks he’d be perfect on ‘The Greatest Dancer’.
"Simon has never been afraid to take on the BBC and ‘Strictly’, but it is a different story now his show is on the same channel. That said, he still wants the best people for his series and he thinks Bruno is one of them."
