Mel and Sue’s Generation Game is returning

‘The Generation Game’ will return to the BBC for a second season of the reboot.
The revamped version of the classc Beeb game show saw Mel Giedroyc, 50, and Sue Perkins, 48, at the helm, and the former ‘Great British Bake Off’ pair are set to make a comeback.
Although the series had some teething problems, the broadcaster is reportedly ready to throw its full support behind the show, which sees pairs of family members across generations battling for prizes.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column: "The BBC have booked a new filming slot for Mel and Sue to have another go at the ‘Generation Game’.
"They are going to mix things up a bit while staying true to the format. They don’t want to be remembered as the hosts of a flop, so said they were at least take part in another episode to sort out the problems.
"The BBC are then hopeful that Mel and Sue will both commit to another series once they’ve done a successful run-through. It’s thought the show will have a new producer, and they’ll look at nixing the celebrity panel which didn’t really work."
The late Sir Bruce Forsyth initially fronted the show from its beginnings in 1971 for six years, and again from 1990 to 1994, while Larry Grayson took over for three years in between his two tenures.
Former ‘Doctor Who’ star Jim Davidson also had a run from 1995 until the end of the programme’s initial run in 2002.
Mel and Sue took over in April for two special episodes, and it’s thought the Beeb is keen to bring it back after audience research proved positive.
