Alfie Boe would ‘love to be a judge’ on Britain’s Got Talent

Alfie Boe would "love to be a judge" on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The musical theatre star admitted while he would definitely consider a judging role on the show, he would also be a tough critic who expects big things from contestants.
In an exclusive interview with BANG Showbiz at The Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday (13.06.18), Alfie said: "I would love to have ago, I would love to be a judge. I think there’s a lot of good talent.
"I would be tough. I’d expect a high standard but I would I think there are some wonderfully talented people on that show.
"The week I was on was a lot of fun to see everybody’s performance, but I would be pretty hard, yeah – I’d be a tough judge but I’d like to do it."
The 44-year-old ‘Les Misérables’ star believes that 2017 winner Tokio Myers could help to bring classical music to the mainstream.
He said: "That’s been something that’s happened over the years for a long time that’s been gradually increasing, the guys like Collabro and Il Divo and Josh Groban. It’s been happening for a long time.
"Tokio has brought something new to it, I think he’s brought a real freshness and a new audience and that’s what it’s about, it’s about attracting the new audiences.
"It’s not about trying to define which category of music your music is in; it’s just bringing everybody together with the power of music."
Alfie, alongside Michael Ball, picked up the award for Best Group at the recent Classic Brit Awards at the Royal Albert Hall.
Michael teased Alfie before the show: "I don’t think we’ll win, he whistled twice in the dressing room and we’re on table 13.
"I’m a little superstitious – he’s blown it for us, we came in with a good chance then he whistled twice, I don’t think we’re going home with anything."
