Celebrity Big Brother to return in August

‘Celebrity Big Brother’ is set to return to screens in August.
The reality TV show – hosted by Emma Willis – will be back on Channel 5 in two months’ time as a new group of celebrities are thrown into the house for three weeks after bosses decided to push back the launch to avoid a clash with ‘Love Island’.
A source told The Daily Star newspaper: "We delayed everything until ‘Love Island’ is out of the way. Then fans will be ready for us. We’d usually start with a regular series but we’re launching with all guns blazing with celebrities."
This series’ theme is believed to be "scandal", with the likes of Stormy Daniels, ‘Queer Eye’ star Jonathan Van Ness and The Chuckle Brothers rumoured to be entering the house alongside Katie Price’s estranged husband Kieran Hayler.
A source said recently: "In January the theme did really well and now they think the idea of retribution could be a ratings winner.
"They’re still mulling over ideas but this series will be like an extreme therapy session. Everyone going into the house will have done something they regret in the past. There will be scandals and stories they have read about and they’ll get to hear a completely fresh and different side in the house.
"Going on the show will be their way of showing they’re ready to change their ways and that they regret what they did. In terms of how it’s going to come across on screen, it should be absolutely unmissable viewing."
The delay the launch means fans will be treated to a double-whammy of ‘Big Brother’ as the civilian series – which usually hit screens before the celebrity version in the summer – will now air in September and run right up until mid-autumn.
However, this may be the last time fans get to see ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ as Channel 5 bosses are reportedly toying with the idea of axing it from 2019.
