Thorpe Park to create Love Island experience

Thorpe Park are to create a ‘Love Island’ experience where fans can meet contestants and get a feel for being on the show.
The theme’s park bosses have announced plans to convert Thorpe Park’s beach area into a fan experience based on the ITV2 show, which will include themed drinks and games, from summer 2018.
Dominic Jones, divisional director, said: "Throughout the summer everyone is talking about Love Island and now everyone has the chance to experience what it would be like to be on the ITV2 show, without having to leave the UK.
"Our beach is open and we’re looking forward to welcoming Love Island fans throughout the summer."
One of the planned games will see wannabe contestants compete in the ‘Love Island’ lilo race for the chance to win prizes, and visitors will be able to hire VIP beach huts and spend time in a special chill out zone.
What’s more, former Islanders will be present at the park, which is based in Surrey, south east England, on certain dates.
Thorpe Park will celebrate its partnership with the hit ITV2 series with special late-night openings on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays nights from Thursday July 26th to Saturday September 1st 2018.
The latest ‘Love Island’ series has proved a ratings success so far with the launch episode watched by 2.9 million people – more than double the number who tuned in for the first episode in 2017.
The first ep of 2018 also hit a peak of 3.4 million viewers shortly after the episode started at 9pm on ITV2.
Comparatively, last year’s launch show was watched by 1.3 million people.
