Anna Richardson’s PTSD after hotel robbery

Anna Richardson suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrifying hotel room robbery.
The ‘Loose Women’ star opened up about the horrifying moment she woke up in bed to see two men opening her suitcase after climbing up to her first floor balcony and sneaking in through the window.
Speaking about the after effects while on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ on Tuesday (05.06.18), she said: "I was robbed in my hotel room by two men. I woke up to find two men at the end of my bed, unzipping my suitcase.
"I have never been more terrified in my life… I definitely had PTSD, and I’d suffered for months.
"I became more and more afraid to the point that I wouldn’t leave the house… I had a lot of therapy to get over it, I was terrified."
The 47-year-old TV presenter described the scary moment she realised what was going on, and how the dangerous situation impacted her speech.
She added: "It’s really peculiar. My voice became like a man, and I couldn’t get my words out.
"So I was just sort of honking in a really masculine way. The adrenaline takes over and you can’t get your words out."
Anna revealed she even tried to take extra measures to keep herself safe the night before, as she decided to prop a chair against the door of the hotel to stop anyone from sneaking in.
She explained: "The worst thing was, I’d put a chair against my hotel door for safety, but they’d come in through the window. So I’d effectively trapped myself."
