Cathy Dennis calls for transparency in music industry

Cathy Dennis wants more "transparency" in the music industry.
The ‘Just Another Dream’ hitmaker feels it is important that, in light of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movement, women speak up about what has happened to them, as she admitted she has had her "own issues".
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the Ivor Novello Awards at London’s Grosvenor House, where she picked up the Outstanding Song Collection award, she said: "There’s a lot of women who have had these kind of experiences in the music industry and I think it’s really important that the transparency exists so that we are able to come forward and identify these issues. I’ve had my own issues. I think it really helps to talk about it actually, I mean, only with my close friends, I haven’t revealed any other details."
The Time’s Up movement has spread across Hollywood as the film industry sought to promote equality and campaign against harassment.
A Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund was set up to help women in less privileged professions protect themselves from sexual misconduct and consequences which may arise from reporting it.
Time’s Up was started by several Hollywood stars, agents, writers, directors, producers and entertainment executives – including the likes of Natalie Portman and Emma Stone – on New Year’s Day (01.01.18), to make a stand against sexual harassment in the entertainment industry and businesses.
